Rootless Social x Silicon Valley Bank (SVB)

On September 16th, Rootless Social returned to downtown Boston for another high-energy evening of connection, conversation, and community building, this time in partnership with Silicon Valley Bank.

Hosted on the 28th floor at 53 State Street, the event brought together founders, creatives, operators, and independent thinkers from across Massachusetts for one purpose: meaningful connection.

From early-stage entrepreneurs to seasoned builders, the room was filled with people actively creating, scaling, and redefining what it means to build something from the ground up in Boston.

A Founder-Focused Networking Event in Boston

Unlike traditional networking events that revolve around business cards and surface-level introductions, the Rootless Social Meetup focused on depth.

The evening began with professional filming, where entrepreneurs answered three powerful questions:

  • Who are you?
  • What are you building?
  • What makes you Rootless?

These on-camera moments captured the authenticity and ambition that define the Boston founder community.

Attendees then moved into an hour of relaxed networking with drinks and appetizers, creating space for real conversations and organic collaboration. The atmosphere felt intentional, energized, and open.

Speaker Session: What It Means to Be Rootless

During the featured speaker session:

  • Greta, Co-Founder of Rootless Social, shared the philosophy behind the Rootless movement and why community matters in entrepreneurship.
  • Benjamin Maitland-Lewis highlighted initiatives from Silicon Valley Bank that support founders and growth-stage companies.

The partnership reinforced a shared commitment to supporting entrepreneurs across Boston and beyond.

Open Mic + Rootless Connections

The night continued with an open mic session, where founders stepped forward to share their ideas, ventures, and visions. It was a reminder that Boston’s entrepreneurial ecosystem thrives when people are given a platform.

From startup pitches to collaboration requests, meaningful connections were formed that will extend far beyond a single evening.

The event closed with a special announcement exclusively for Rootless members, reinforcing that this is more than a meetup. It is a growing ecosystem for builders.

Share Your Experience & Get Rewarded

Attendees were encouraged to share their event experience on LinkedIn and Instagram by tagging Rootless Social and Silicon Valley Bank. Select posts received a $10 virtual gift card as part of the community engagement initiative.

The social buzz reflected what was felt in the room: Boston’s founders are hungry for connection.
